drywall & ceiling services in ham lake

Drywall Repair

From small holes and dents to larger damaged sections, we repair drywall in walls and ceilings. Repairs may include replacing damaged material, securing loose drywall, taping, applying joint compound, sanding, and preparing the surface for paint.

Popcorn Ceiling Removal

Ready to say goodbye to outdated popcorn ceilings? We remove existing texture and prepare ceilings for a smooth, updated appearance. Depending on the condition of the underlying drywall, additional skim coating and finishing may be necessary.

Water-Damaged Ceiling Repair

Water stains, sagging drywall, and damaged ceiling finishes can be signs of previous leaks. Once the moisture source has been corrected and the area is dry, we can assess the damage and recommend an appropriate repair.

Skim Coating & Drywall Finishing

A smooth finish requires careful preparation and the right application techniques. We skim coat walls and ceilings to reduce visible imperfections and prepare surfaces for painting. A skim coat can hide years of not so great repairs, thick texture paint, or damage from wall paper removal.

Interior Painting

After drywall repairs and ceiling refinishing, painting helps bring the finished project together. We offer interior painting to complete the transformation.

Recent ceiling project in ham lake

13 foot tall tray ceiling converted from a popcorn ceiling to a smooth finish completed with a tall scaffold and painted to match the surrounding rooms walls and ceilings

One of our recent projects in Ham Lake involved transforming a 13-foot-tall tray ceiling from an outdated popcorn texture to a clean, smooth finish. The homeowners were also planning to update the room with four recessed can lights and a large ceiling fan, making this a great opportunity to modernize the entire space.

What made this project memorable was the height of the ceiling and the scaffolding required to reach it. Our rolling scaffold stood approximately seven feet tall with the wheels installed, creating an interesting challenge for our six-foot-tall finisher. There was plenty of room to work once positioned at ceiling height, but navigating around the scaffold meant occasionally bumping his head!

Working on a ceiling this tall requires additional preparation, equipment, and patience. Removing the popcorn texture was only the first step. The ceiling also needed to be skim coated and finished to create the smooth appearance the homeowners wanted.

The result was a refreshed tray ceiling, ready to complement the homeowners' planned lighting and ceiling fan upgrades.
